Kappa church. The Methodist Episcopal and the Evangelical churches cooperated in the building which was finished in 1874. It cost $2400 including stoves, furniture and fence. A Methodist pastor, Rev. Mr. Kern, served the church in 1878 with a society numbering about 35 members. Evangelicals withdrew in 1922-23. The building was used intermittenly several years before it burned in July 4, 1941. The congregation never had a resident minister being served by pastors from Gridley, El Paso and Hudson. Courtesy of Mrs. Gladys Morse.
