(formerly Kil's Tavern) in 1958. In 1971, they added more warehouse space, and many gift items are included in the regular stock.

Kent Lumber & Coal Company erected a new office building at 12 West Front Street in 1966. Fire destroyed a wooden building used for a shop, which was located southwest of the office, February 4, 1972. It was replaced by a 30 x 72 foot metal structure during the summer. It is believed faulty wiring caused the fire. Raymond Wilkey is the manager and is assisted by Lloyd Wadsworth.

The Kitchell Insurance Agency was founded by W. D. Kitchell in 1934, with an office at 19 West Front Street. Following his graduation from Bradley University, his son, William F., joined him in 1947. The office was moved to 47 West Front Street in February, 1964. W. D. Kitchell died June 25, 1973, and the junior partner continues the business.

The Curt Mahaffey Agency, Insurance & Real Estate, successor to Ivan H. Snow Agency, which was founded in 1936, was located on Elm Street south of the City Hall. In 1967, a new office was built at the corner of Elm and First Streets which opened for business July 10th. Curt Mahaffey operates the business and is assisted by his son-in-law, Frank Betts.

Monte Lindsey, agent for State Farm Insurance Company, opened his office at 19 West Front Street January 1, 1964.

The law office of Baker and Baker was moved in early 1973 from 18 N. Central Street, on the second floor of the El Paso National Bank building, to 37 East Front Street. Frederick B. Baker succeeded his father, H. H. Baker, as city attorney, and continues in that office.
