The first officers and directors, of the club were Frank B. Stitt, president, J. M. Reeves, secretary, Edgar Vanneman, treasurer, J. J. DeMotte, C. J. Aylea, J. A. Smith, Dr. A. C. King, and F. C. Nichols. Of the charter members, only four are living in 1974: P. H. Andrews, Ralph Pfleeger, and V. F. Bower all of El Paso, and Ralph A. Burster. Only two of the charter members were women: the late Isabella Burster and Miss Clara Hamm.

Beginning in 1929 and continuing for many years, a regular part of the club's activities included a weekly dance with the music provided by the late Max Smith with his violin and his wife, Litta, at the piano. In later years, their daughter, Patricia, added her lovely voice to the music for many festive occasions at the club.

A new 40 x 60 foot club house was built in the late fall of 1966, on the site of the previous one. It was a combination of tan brick, deep redwood, and Hawaiian surf colored metal with a white roof, and it cost approximately $30,000. It contains a dining room with a seating capacity of 150, a snack and bar area and a kitchen. The basement has showers and lockers for members, a pro shop, and storage space. It opened in April, 1967.

A new tile line was installed in the fall of 1973 to help take care of the run-off of rain water. During the fall of 1973 and spring of 1974, a golf greens architectural firm was hired to build two new greens (#2 and #8) together with sand traps and underground sprinklers, all at a cost of approximately $18,000.
