Mr. W. J. Morrison was principal of the East Side schools in this city
from '89 to '93. He is now taking a course of study at Swarthmore College,
Penn. To him, more than any other person, is due the successful effort
in establishing a High School course of study in Dist. 4, and superintending
its introduction and managing for the first few years its development.
A conscientious man, a kind teacher, he has left the imprint of his good
character on many of the youth in this community, who have for him the
kindest regards.
REV. J. MARTH, PASTOR GERMAN EVANGELICAL CHURCH.

breeding making several direct importations of Percherons from France,
gradually increasing his interests until he was one of the best known breeders
in the west. He gave valued assistance in organizing the El Paso Fair association
and was its first president. He moved to this city in 1881. In 1894 he
was elected treasurer of Woodford county on the republican ticket.
